The Australian Podiatry Association partners with Plena Healthcare to drive podiatric patient outcomes
19 Aug 2024
In a groundbreaking move to advance the podiatry profession and patient outcomes, the Australian Podiatry Association (APodA) has partnered with Plena Healthcare, which includes APodA membership for all of Plena's podiatry team.
This initiative aims to drive better patient outcomes by elevating Plena Healthcare’s podiatrists’ professional development through continuous education, community building, discounts, representation and access to comprehensive resources through the peak podiatry association’s member resources.
Supporting continuous education and professional development
Through the APodA membership, Plena Healthcare’s podiatrists are granted access to an array of ongoing podiatric education and professional development tools. These include webinars, CPD tracking and access to Journal Club where podiatrists can accelerate their knowledge by learning how to read, review and disseminate this knowledge into their everyday practices.
"The profession is constantly evolving so it’s crucial podiatrists stay informed about the latest research and are continuously pursuing professional development. Our partnership with Plena Healthcare ensures their team of podiatrists have full access to the necessary tools, education and knowledge to continue providing exceptional care.”
– Hilary Shelton, Chief Executive Officer, Australian Podiatry Association
Fostering a strong community
Beyond continuous education and professional development, the partnership aims to foster a robust community among podiatrists. Membership to the APodA includes opportunities to participate in the Podiatry Aged Care Special Interest Group, networking events, and educational events, which are designed to facilitate knowledge sharing and professional growth.
"Plena Healthcare podiatrists already work in a multi-disciplinary environment amongst different Allied Health modalities. This new partnership will allow our team to now collaborate with podiatrists outside of the aged care space, improving their knowledge and providing new insights into how other podiatrists practice in different locations and environments."
– Rob Mullins, National Podiatry Manager, Plena Healthcare
Access to comprehensive resources
Plena Healthcare podiatrists will have access to a range of member exclusive resources such as professional support, clinical support, career support, legal support, counselling, access to aged care specific resources and more.
Access to resources beyond education and professional development ensures well-rounded support for podiatrists to feel fulfilled and connected in their profession, ultimately improving patient outcomes.
"As a leader I have always believed it is important to support our team beyond their clinical role. Our podiatrists each have individual needs and goals, and this partnership with the APodA will provide a whole new set of professional and personal career resources for them to connect, grow, and learn."
– Rob Mullins, National Podiatry Manager, Plena Healthcare
The Future
This partnership between the APodA and Plena Healthcare significantly accelerates the empowerment and support of the podiatry profession.
The APodA and Plena Healthcare are dedicated to continuously evaluating and enhancing the partnership to ensure it meets the evolving needs of podiatrists.
“We’re thrilled to be partnering Plena Healthcare and their podiatrists in supporting podiatric aged care and driving positive patient outcomes."
– Hilary Shelton, Chief Executive Officer, Australian Podiatry Association
