Matthew Talbot Homeless Hostel

The Podiatry Clinic at the Matthew Talbot Homeless Hostel is located down Talbot Lane, just off
Bourke/William streets in Woolloomooloo Sydney.

The clinic is open daily and staffed by a full-time Nursing team and is attended by the residents
and visitors of Matthew Talbot.

Podiatrists are present at the clinic on a rotating roster. Our days are Tuesdays, Saturdays and
Sundays from 10-3pm or until such time as you are ready to leave. The service we provide is
volunteer and the gentlemen are not charged for their visit.

The Podiatry section of the clinic is fully stocked with all consumables and instruments (kindly
donated by Podiatrists and health care professionals). The Nursing staff are always at hand should
you require anything.

It is not necessary to take anything with you.

Note-keeping is done via paper and handed to the Nursing staff upon departure.

Podiatrists: It is recommended that for your initial visit you work alongside another Podiatrist who
will introduce you to the staff and location of all the necessities.
There is paperwork located ninth bottom drawer of the Podiatry Cabinet where you can log your
attendance for CPD purposes.
For all new Volunteers a current WWCC must be completed as well as a Police Check through St
Vincent De Paul (link will be supplied).

For students: attending from various universities it is imperative that you attend with a fully
qualified Podiatrist and that your insurances through A.Pod.A(NSW&ACT) are up to date. Your
presence is for your experience and will not be counted toward your external placement at this
stage. Your participation is at the discretion of your supervising Podiatrist (I advise you to contact
them individually prior to attending to introduce yourselves personally).

Working at The Matthew Talbot Hostel is a very rewarding and enlightening experience, I really
hope you enjoy your time!
