eCourse - APodA Sonography and Podiatry
A
Ultrasound (Sonography) practice is an increasingly used technique in podiatry practices and encompasses musculoskeletal ultrasound imaging, vascular hand-held Doppler ultrasound and therapeutic ultrasound.
It can be used in podiatry for the assessment and diagnoses of Bursitis, Tendonitis, Morten's Neuroma, Plantar Fasciitis and more ... but how much post-grad CPD or training have you completed in order to feel more confident in its use and referrals?
The APodA have teamed up with Brendan Goode, B. App Sci Radiology and Master Health Science Sonography to deliver podiatrists the 4-part Sonography and Podiatry e-Course*.
Four 1 hour videos including online quizzes to extend your learning in Ultrasound.
This short, self-paced course is perfect for any podiatrist keen to begin using ultrasound or as a refresh for those wanting an update on subjects such as sourcing the correct equipment, service costs and consumables, scan preparation to probe types and frequencies, to referrals and legal liabilities.
Case study images and some practice tips to take away are also included in this unique 4 hour course.

Testimonials
- Excellent knowledgeable presentation tailored fairly well to podiatry. If the APodA could ask Brendan to compile a specifically tailored podiatry sonography presentation that would be even better.
- Finally an in-depth but basic and clearly explained look into sonography. This will be a huge help in not only guiding those podiatrists wanting to DO some ultrasounds but also for those sending patients off to get ultrasounds and reading the reports that come back. Thank you very much. May there be many more.
- I personally found the webinar to be very informative and of the calibre that I have been accustomed to with the many years of post graduate and other Podiatric study re my B.H.Sc Comp. Medicine. Adv Dip Nat, Adv.Dip Nutrition etc I feel privileged to have been able to be a small part and may I thank the Australian Podiatry Association for their sterling efforts in being able to secure a brilliant lecturer in this monumental field which I know is imperative to diagnose a problem in order to successfully treat it. I feel that the exercise however should have been worth at least 8 points. I personally took comprehensive notes and am glad I did because I was totally arrogant as well as ignorant of what I was looking at in an ultrasound until now. At last I have some appreciation and understanding. Many thanks to all concerned
- Doing a series like this rather than just a one hour webinar is a very valuable tool. Perhaps the pricing is a little steep; that would be my only comment. I was grateful for the opportunity to have it included as part of my continuing membership with APodA but probably would not have seen it as a reason to join if it was a stand-alone offering. The regular CPD offered by APodA is a great incentive for membership. And it was a TERRIFIC learning tool for me as to how to understand those pesky ultrasounds that just used to look like blancmange.
- This webinar was excellent. Highly practical and, I believe, a must for all podiatrists. It enhanced my knowledge of sonography and Brendan was clearly extremely knowledgeable and a great presenter. Thank you!
