"Osteochondroses above the ankle – How do we manage them?”
Presented by Physiotherapist Natasha Hart, this presentation will cover Adolescent Knee Osteochondroses. She will present a case study which will discuss diagnostic criteria & differential diagnoses, common presenting symptoms, and management techniques utilised in a real clinical scenario.

"Little Feet: your grounding for life”
Many children and their families present with common issues such as high tone and toe-walking or low tone, pes planus and out toeing. Dr Bland would like to talk about some of the medical associations that come with these conditions that Podiatrist can watch out for and help parents navigate.

"Paediatric Physiotherapy: What we do and when to refer”
In this talk on paediatric physiotherapy, attendees will gain insight into the role of physiotherapists in promoting children's physical well-being. The talk covers the diverse range of conditions physio’s play a role in, including developmental delay, neurological conditions, and orthopaedic conditions. Learn when to refer children to a physiotherapist for optimal care.

Kim Bland
APA Physiotherapist

Dr Kim Bland is a dedicated Paediatrician who looks after babies and children aged up to 16 years. After graduating from Flinders University in Adelaide, South Australia, Dr Bland trained in the Southern Sydney Network before moving to the Sydney Children’s Hospital in Randwick and then completed her paediatric training at The Canberra Hospital in the ACT. Dr Bland’s training has included exposure to the sub-specialty areas of Paediatric neurology and endocrinology. Dr Bland also has an interest in medical education and culture in medicine. In 2018 Dr Bland obtained Fellowship with the Higher Education Academy and now sits on the Canberra Regional Medical Education Committee. Dr Bland is also involved in teaching medical students, junior doctors and in particular, preparing Paediatric trainees for Fellowship exams. Outside of medicine, Dr Bland enjoys spending time with friends and family, swimming, orienteering and travel. Dr Bland believes all children should be supported and empowered to reach their full potential and enjoys the rewards of helping and watching children do this.


Chris Bishop
The Biomechanics Lab

Dr Chris Bishop will present on behalf of our major partner Footwork Podiatric Laboratory. Join Chris as he presents an engaging presentation in his area of expertise: musculoskeletal biomechanical assessments, and prescription variables.

Chris is a renowned Podiatrist and Biomechanist with 15 years experience in advanced biomechanical gait analysis and treatment of complex foot, ankle and lower limb conditions.

Chris has a special interest in orthopaedic surgery, arthritis management, sports medicine and 3D gait analysis. He holds a PhD in Biomechanics and is a Fellow of the Australian Sports Medicine Federation.


Natasha Hart
APA Physiotherapist

Tash commenced as a physiotherapist at Elite in February 2022 after completing a Bachelor of Physiotherapy at the University of Canberra in 2021. Whilst studying she has worked with a variety of sporting teams including U18 Stromlo Futsul, Canberra Royals Rugby Union, Brumbies Super W, Women’s Southern Inland Rugby Union and ACT Presidents First XV Women. In addition to consulting at Elite she is currently the head Physiotherapist for Belconnen Magpies AFL Women’s Team. Tash also runs hydrotherapy rehabilitation classes and functional core & mobility classes. Tash has a strong interest in sports injury rehabilitation and aerial artists/dancers, whilst also being passionate about women’s health and working with children. She has a background in volleyball and various styles of dance over the past 14 years. Tash is passionate about working with individuals towards their goals and return from injury.


Millie McClelland
APA Titled Paediatric Physiotherapist

Millie is a Senior Physiotherapist with Country Children’s Physiotherapy. Millie holds a Bachelor of Medical Science from the Australian National University, a Master of Physiotherapy from the University of Canberra and a Master of Advanced Paediatric Physiotherapy Practice from Monash University.

Previously, Millie worked at the Centenary Hospital for Women and Children (The Canberra Hospital) providing paediatric and neonatal physiotherapy services, prior to moving to Hong Kong where she continued to provide paediatric physiotherapy services. Millie joined Country Children’s Physiotherapy on returning to Canberra.

Millie has completed training for Prechtl’s General Movements Assessment and Hammersmith Infant Neurological Exam (HINE). She holds a special interest in cerebral palsy and developmental delay.

Millie is a firm believer in early intervention therapy to ensure children are given the best opportunity to reach their full potential. She feels the best approach is to make physiotherapy fun and enjoyable for children as well as maintaining a close relationship with families and the child’s support network.

Mr Richard Lee
The Walking Clinic

Biography:
Graduated with a Bachelor of Podiatry from the University of Newcastle. From there he was fortunate to work alongside and learn from his father, Richard Lee. Ricky now directs and mentors his team of podiatrists at The Walking Clinic.

He has a special interest in the treatment of fungal nails, the use of the ARC laser in treatment of Plantar Warts and Fungal Nail infections. Ricky finds the success and the relief he can offer to patients suffering this condition very rewarding.

Another avid interest for Ricky is in sport podiatry and biomechanical problems. In his personal life he has competed at a National level in the sport of downhill mountain biking. Consequently, this also included representing Australia. His knowledge and experience of working with sport related injuries is enhanced by his own sporting involvement.
