A little about Melbourne Podiatrists & Orthotics, Camberwell

Melbourne Podiatrists & Orthotics is located in the heart of Camberwell, in Melbourne’s Inner East, only 9kms from the Melbourne City Centre. We are a state-of-the-art clinic, providing professional podiatry and orthotic services to all members of the family, from children’s feet, to adult feet and senior’s feet.

We have been providing foot care services to the greater Melbourne population for over 40 years. Position & start date

This is initially a part-time position due to start at the end of January 2025 but exact start date is flexible for the successful applicant. The position is replacing a long-term podiatrist who is leaving, meaning there is already a large case load of patients to service. The new podiatrist will be working in a team with four other podiatrists.

NEW OR RECENT GRADUATES

A part-time three or four day position is initially available for new or recent graduates, with plans to grow the position to a full-time position after 12 months. The role will start at the end of January 2025. It will include one to two weeks initial on the job training and observing, depending on the level of experience. New or recent graduates will be under our mentorship program.

EXPERIENCED PODIATRISTS

A part-time two day position is initially available for experienced podiatrists. This position will suit experienced podiatrists who wish to work a few days per week. Perfect for those experienced podiatrists with families or other external interests to podiatry. The role will start at the end of January 2025 with scope to increase days and hours after six to12 months.

Hours & roster

Hours and roster will depend on the number of days employed and open to negotiation within the constraints of the current roster. Core practice hours are below:

Monday          8am – 7.30pm
Tuesday          8am – 7.30pm
Wednesday    8am – 7.30pm
Thursday        8am – 6pm
Friday              8am – 5pm
Saturday         8am – 12.30pm (open every 2nd)

MPAO Mentorship Program

New graduates or recent graduates will be mentored under our mentorship program with the support of four highly experienced podiatrists. The 12 month program includes weekly one hour one-on-one mentoring sessions with the senior podiatrist, who has over 25 years of private practice experience.

Mentoring sessions will include both evidence and clinical based treatments, designed to help accelerate your learning and become confident in all aspects of podiatry. Some of the more challenging aspects of podiatry will be covered including:

  • Sports injuries and musculoskeletal conditions
  • Biomechanics and gait analysis
  • Custom orthotic prescription
  • Paediatrics
  • Plantar heel pain
  • Difficult case studies

CPD Assistance

MPAO will help you fulfil your mandatory CPD requirements through in house training and social team meetings. The position includes free membership to the Ultimate Podiatrist, the leading provider of online continuing professional development (CPD) for the podiatry industry in Australia.

Remuneration

NEW GRADUATES

New or recent graduates will be started on a generous above award remuneration on a guaranteed salary. This means you won’t have to worry about getting paid or the number of patients you see whilst you build your books. Its our job to invest in you and to grow your position.

EXPERIENCED PODIATRISTS

Experienced podiatrists will start on either a base salary or a bonus salary structure, depending on the level of experience.

LONG-TERM EMPLOYEES ARE REWARDED

After 2 years of service all long-term employees are transitioned to MPAO’s super rewarding 50% bonus structure salary with huge earning potential. Due to our prime location, our high fee structure and our high bonus percentage, our experienced podiatrists are some of the best rewarded podiatrists in the profession.
