Full Time Podiatrist Level 1/2 Dubbo, NSW
Position Vacant: Full Time
Podiatrist - transition to High Risk Foot Clinic
Western NSW Local Health District
Dubbo, NSW
A career defining opportunity suitable for a podiatrist passionate to acquire the skills in a supportive environment to work at the top of their scope. Both experienced and new graduate podiatrists are encouraged to apply.
The High Risk Foot Clinic aims to prevent hospitalisation for diabetic foot ulcers and infections, improve the experience of care, and quality of life. The work is as rewarding as it is challenging, but you don’t do this on your own.
Your mentor, Peter ensures you are ready to tackle the complexity of cases presented with shadowing, consulting and regular feedback. Peter has close to 20 years public and private clinical podiatry experience. Mission focused, Peter returned to public practice after private because of the rewarding work. You’ll get swept up in his enthusiasm!
So why choose this role?
- Patients who really need your care. Barriers to care and the prevalence of diabetes and diabetes-related foot disease in our First Nations communities means advanced and complex presentations.
- Collaborative team. You’ll share care planning with a well-integrated multidisciplinary team who respect and appreciate your specialty expertise.
- Approachable specialists. The clinic is co-located with specialists in orthopaedics, endocrinology and vascular who are both approachable and collaborative and will know you by name.
- Hospital facilities. You will work in a bright, clinician designed clinic with pathology, radiology, vascular investigations, specialist consultation, surgery, endovascular and dietetics, all on site.
- Outcome focused practice. Treatment is holistic and outcome focused, rather than time based. While there are busy days, you will clearly see the results of your work.
- Virtual delivery. Develop skills both face to face and in virtual podiatry outreach.
- Training and access to scholarships. Access to more study days and a wide number of scholarships - we encourage you to pursue education in your interest areas.
- Incentives. $10,000 recruitment incentive and $5,000 retention incentive after 12 months service.
- Dubbo! Dubbo is affordable, has a friendly social scene, shopping, cafés, loads of team sports, movies, theatre, concerts, large dam for water sports and outback national parks just waiting to be explored. There are direct flights to Sydney/Brisbane/Melbourne, take a daily train or a 5 hour drive from Sydney. You will be very welcome here.
Choosing a career step to the Dubbo high risk foot clinic, either for a few years to fast-track your career, or as a professional specialty, is a great move. The skills developed will set you up for the rest of your career – you will be highly sought after, enabling you to steer your career in the direction you please.
