FT/Fixed Term Podiatrist Darwin or East Arnhem Land, NT

Miwatj Health Aboriginal Corporation (MHAC) is a non-profit providing clinical services and care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in East Arnhem Land. MHAC also offers education and preventive care programs.
Primary Objective:
Deliver podiatry services to CHSP-eligible clients in East Arnhem Land, promoting functional independence and community living. Includes fortnightly travel to communities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical and culturally responsive podiatry services.
- Work independently and as part of a team.
- Manage caseloads, governance, and service improvement.
- Accurate reporting for Miwatj Health and funding bodies.
- Maintain discipline-specific equipment and supplies.
- Supervise and advise Miwatj staff and stakeholders.
Selection Criteria:
Essential Requirements:
- Commitment to Aboriginal Community Control and self-determination.
- Understanding issues faced by Yolŋu people.
- Podiatry qualification with AHPRA registration and 3+ years' experience.
- Knowledge of acute and chronic foot conditions.
- Understanding primary health and aged care contexts.
- Collaborative and multidisciplinary work skills.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to travel regularly within Miwatj region.
Desirable:
- Experience in remote Indigenous communities.
- Ability to speak Yolŋu Matha and knowledge of kinship systems.
- Experience with CHSP clients or knowledge of CHSP/Aged Care program.
- Manual driver’s license.
Successful applicants need a current Working with Children Clearance and a criminal history check.
