We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Podiatrist to deliver essential services to clients eligible under the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) across East Arnhem Land. This unique role is guided by the CHSP wellness approach, supporting clients to enhance functional independence, community engagement, and the ability to remain in their homes. Working within Miwatj communities, you will travel fortnightly to various locations, providing clinical care, assessments, and culturally responsive treatments to clients. The role is an exciting opportunity to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, with a strong emphasis on quality, safety, and evidence-based practices.

About Miwatj
Miwatj Health is an independent Aboriginal Community-Controlled Health Service. Established in 1992, we’re committed to securing quality health care services across the East Arnhem and enabling Yolŋu powered community health and wellbeing. Miwatj provides culturally appropriate, comprehensive primary health care to over 6,000 remote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander residents across three East Arnhem wards. With a Head Office in Nhulunbuy, Miwatj also manages a Corporate Office in Darwin, seven fixed clinics across the East Arnhem region, and dedicated outreach teams who travel to three additional locations.
Essential Requirements
The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to Aboriginal Community Control and self-determination, along with an understanding of the challenges faced by Yolŋu people in remote areas. A tertiary qualification in Podiatry with current AHPRA registration and a minimum of three years of clinical experience is essential. Applicants should demonstrate expertise in managing acute and chronic foot conditions, knowledge of primary health and aged care contexts, and principles of chronic disease prevention. Success in this role requires collaborative abilities within a multidisciplinary environment, effective communication skills, and the ability to travel regularly within the Miwatj region.
