The Alice Springs Hospital Podiatry service works across both inpatient and outpatient settings to help treat some of the most advanced high risk feet seen in Australia. The Podiatry team is a passionate, small team that values its high quality service and collaboration across multiple disciplines to help and achieve the most positive outcomes for their patients. This unique environment brings an opportunity to upskill in a supportive setting, think and work autonomously and confidently and work on problem solving and communication skills; skills that can be developed and improved at any level.

The Alice Springs Hospital (ASH) is a teaching centre for Flinders Medical School. Areas of speciality include Indigenous health, Renal, Intensive Care, Infectious Diseases, Emergency, Maternity and Obstetrics, Rehabilitation, Hospital in the Home, Palliative Care, Day Oncology, Mental Health, and General Medical, Surgical and Paediatric areas. ASH is the major referral hospital for Central Australia, serving a population of more than 42,000 people in an area exceeding a million square kilometers, covering more than 60 per cent of the Northern Territory and extending into the bordering areas of South Australia, Queensland and Western Australia. The hospital has more than 65,000 admissions annually, caring for some of the nation's most vulnerable people, with high levels of morbidity and mortality and many with conditions rarely seen elsewhere in the country. The medicine is diverse and complex with a high prevalence of rheumatic heart disease and renal disease, along with diabetes in a young population with a median age of just 34. Alice Springs Hospital is a 207-bed facility providing a general range of secondary, and some tertiary, inpatient, outpatient and specialist services, including a renal dialysis centre catering for more than 400 patients.
