Position Vacant: Full Time

This position is funded by a co-pilot trial with Townsville Aboriginal and Islander Health Services (TAIHS) to work within the Townsville Hospital and Health Service (THHS) Podiatry Department to provide and co-ordinate high-risk foot services to indigenous patients of the Townsville Community, integrating with medical services at TAIHS as well as providing linkages with our Renal team and other sections of our community that currently struggle to access high-risk foot care through our existing model of care.  The position is funded for 12 months but highly likely to be extended with a memorandum of understanding in place between THHS and TAIHS to support the future funding.

The THHS High Risk foot Service is a NADC iHRFS accredited Centre of Excellence and our Podiatry department is well supported (and celebrated) by THHS management as winners of the Allied Health Excellence Awards.  We also have both Endocrinology and Vascular consultants who are highly engaged in the High-Risk Foot research.  This position would be a great opportunity for any clinician who is passionate about working with first nations patients to enhance high-risk foot outcomes in the ATSI community whilst further developing their high-risk foot skills.
