Endorsement

What is Endorsement?

The APodA has built a reputation on trust and integrity over the past 80+ years. It is unquestionably a trusted brand and one which our members rely heavily on, now more than ever before, to help inform, educate, develop and guide them through a range of challenges. The foot health market is a complex and crowded space presenting manufacturers and product distributors with the challenge of being seen.

Endorsement support for a commercial product or brand allows them to stand out from their competitors. It is a powerful differentiation tool that makes an endorsement very valuable. What makes an association endorsement even more valuable, especially when it operates in the same market as a brand or product, is what it stands for, trust and integrity and a thorough process of evaluation and assessment.

This is in some way similar to the reason some practitioners use their membership of the APodA Brand to market themselves. It represents trust, integrity and a commitment to the profession and personal development in this context.

What does it take to get Endorsed by the APodA?

To gain APodA endorsement a product/s must pass the Product Assessment process and fulfil a detailed list of stringent requirements. Products that are put forward for endorsement are presented to a panel of six (6) independently practising AHPRA registered podiatrists (four year trained, in clinical practice for a minimum of 5 years and currently in clinical practice). The APodA have written a detailed article about what endorsement is and what it means when provided by professional associations such as the APodA. You can read this in full HERE.

You can review the full explanation of how endorsement works including the latest review process on our Endorsement flow chart finalised in November 2020, HERE.

Important notes relating to endorsement transparency

  • All stages of assessment including assessors, Regional Council and Board are required to declare conflict of interest
  • Assessors identity will remain confidential, but their professional attributes will be published in the interest of transparency with relevant information being redacted
  • The Association will declare the amounts earned through endorsement and publish these in the annual report
